FREMONT, Calif. — October 27, 2003 — Panasas, Inc. and MW Solutions today announced an agreement to jointly deliver the Panasas ActiveScale Storage Cluster to Linux cluster environments. Through this agreement, MW Solutions, a leading storage solutions provider for energy and biotechnology companies, will promote the Panasas Storage Cluster to its customers in the Southwest region. The partnership has already generated customer adoption at NuTec Energy, currently running production seismic applications with the Panasas system.

The Panasas ActiveScale Storage Cluster is the first system tailored for Linux cluster computing applications. Based on a breakthrough object-based storage clustering design, the Panasas Storage Cluster can deliver up to 30 times more throughput than leading systems by reading and writing multiple gigabytes of data per second to a single Panasas system. In addition, the system sets an industry record random I/O performance result of 305,805 SFS operations per second1.
